Could treatment with corticosterone, associated with an immunological challenge, affect the reproduction of bullfrog males?

This study, performed by the undergraduate student Débora de Almeida Prado at Laboratory of Behavior and Evolutionary Physiology (IB-USP), tried to understand the effects of an exogenous treatment with corticosterone (CORT), a hormone associated to the stress response, associated with an immunological challenge could alter the reproductive physiology of American bullfrog males. It has been found that the chronic treatment with CORT can decrease spermatogenic activity.
